So imagine this...
Shakespeare's, The Comedy of Errors, which tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were accidentally separated at birth. When they encounter the friends and families of their twins, a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities lead to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, an arrest, and accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and demonic possession.
Now, imagine it set to a backdrop of modern day hip-hop culture, DJ and all! Yes, you read that correctly. I spent Saturday night watching four guys rap their way through a Shakespearean play, and they did a phenomenal job. Standing ovation kind of phenomenal.
Enough can not be said about the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. Every year they do an outstanding job of bringing Shakespeare to the masses, making it fun and interesting in the process. It really doesn't matter matter what you choose to see as they always make a great show.

Christmas Project
So as always, the mailman at work is BRILLIANT! We've come up with a plan to make a snowman out of rubber band balls for Christmas. We're part way there already but just need to finalize a few things.
Pictures to follow in December!

Why, Oh Why?
I swear people just love to complain. Every person that has walked into this office in the past couple of days has spent at least 5 minutes telling me how hot and aweful it is outside. These are the very same people that spend all winter complaining about the cold and how they can't wait for spring / summer to come around, or that pay thousands of dollars to go somewhere warm on holiday each year. Whats the difference between 90 degrees here in Upstate NY and 90 degrees in the Caribbean?
I hate to break it to people, but it really doesn't get that unbearable here in Upstate NY.
If people got out from inside their refrigerated boxes more often then they wouldn't have this complete intolerance for anything above 65 degrees. Why is there this need to move from one air-conditioned space to the next, what happened to driving with the windows down for the cool breeze in your hair, or opening up the house to let in the sweet smell of spring / summer.
Open your windows and let Khaos run wild.

Friggin' Cat!
We have a weird cat. He's nuts.
He gets up to all sorts of troublesome things and constantly harasses his older sister. He's constantly chasing her around the house. He gets into EVERYTHING! Including the bags of stuffing I was storing to use in pillows.
He likes water too, which to me is just plain bizarre when you consider how much other cats detest it.
Yes, he really does jump up and drink from the tap. In fact, he will sit on the floor staring up at you willing you to turn the tap on so he can jump up and play with it and drink from it.

Man vs. Mouse (Continued)
Following on from the Man vs. Mouse escapades, I now need therapy.
Finding myself home alone on Sunday since DH was off at the Regional Fight Practice in MA beating other grown men with sticks, I was happily enjoying the quiet time to work on the last couple of scrolls I need to get completed for War of the Roses. Everything was moving along wonderfully, I had the artwork drawn out, calligraphy was flowing nicely with (remarkably) no spelling mistakes when all of a sudden I hear SNAP!
Being the sensitive soul that I am (or "tree hugging hippie" if you ask DH), I actively chose to ignore the visualization of what I had just heard. At least I tried to. The cats started foaming at the mouth as they tried to claw their way through the window and now all I could hear was something struggling around on the deck with the sprung trap in tow.
Out I raced, only to find a Chipmonk with its front paw now trapped after trying to swipe the Peanut Butter. I was horrified. He was terrified and the cats were chomping at the bit for a free play toy. Luckily I was able to get him free so that he could stumble off into the protective cover of my garden and regather his wits. He sat there trembling for a while before limping off under the deck.
Needless to say DH isn't allowed to use spring traps anymore, Have-A-Hearts only...

Off Mice and Men
We have a mouse, albeit a good mouse since he lives outside in the hot-tub. Regardless, he still scurries around tormenting the cats who sit on the chaise staring obsessively out the window. Every now and again they'll "kitty pounce" (sorry, WoW joke there) over to the sliding glass door in the hopes they can magically get outside for a snack.
Now my husband (from now on lovingly referred to as "DH") is obsessed too. It started out as an innocent need to get rid of the mouse and has turned into a test of wills to see who as the larger IQ.
So, out goes the mousetrap. Placed strategically in the repetitive path that the mouse always takes to taunt the cats. SNAP! Springs the trap. Out races DH to clean up the mess, only to stop dead in his tracks when he see's that the trap is sprung, peanut butter is gone but there's no dead mouse.
It happened for the 5th time yesterday. DH must be getting closer to his goal though since this time he at least caught a tuft of hair...
