So imagine this...
Shakespeare's, The Comedy of Errors, which tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were accidentally separated at birth. When they encounter the friends and families of their twins, a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities lead to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, an arrest, and accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and demonic possession.
Now, imagine it set to a backdrop of modern day hip-hop culture, DJ and all! Yes, you read that correctly. I spent Saturday night watching four guys rap their way through a Shakespearean play, and they did a phenomenal job. Standing ovation kind of phenomenal.
Enough can not be said about the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. Every year they do an outstanding job of bringing Shakespeare to the masses, making it fun and interesting in the process. It really doesn't matter matter what you choose to see as they always make a great show.
