Sewing Skills

So I've discovered that I'm really enjoying making my own garb within an SCA context. A year ago it was overwhelming and I had no clue what I was doing, but with time and practice its not nearly as daunting as it used to be. I may end up getting more and more into it where I start using historical hand-sewing techniques but for now all pieces are completed on my trusty Kenmore sewing machine.

I've found that I enjoy using the Reconstructing History patterns as a basis for a lot of things as they're easy to follow and give me a little more confidence as I improve my skills. I've bought a few of their patterns now, specifically the 1490's Kirtle, 1490's Ladies Gown and 14th Century Men's Cotehardie. The fact that they have a bunch of articles in the site also helps when I'm looking for more information. If in doubt contact Kass, she's phenomenal at answering the silliest of beginner questions.

And no, I don't have a vested interest in the company, I just appreciate all the continued help I've received from them and am paying it forward so to speak.
